The history of the seminary<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Archbishop Johann Ernst Graf von Thun und Hohenstein, who was nicknamed “The Donor”, is responsible for the construction of the Trinity Church and the seminary. A three-part complex was built in 1693 according to the plans of the later imperial court architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. The Trinity Church was the celebrated architect’s first sacred building. Since 1699, the seminary has been the training centre for prospective priests of the Archdiocese of Salzburg. There have been several structural modifications to the exterior of the Seminary Church over the centuries. The church received three bells on its 300th anniversary in 1999. The Trinity Church and seminary are listed monuments. Between 2010 and 2012, the seminary underwent a gentle general renovation. The historic building with its magnificent courtyard and pillared arcades has retained its unique character over the centuries.<\/p>\n

Our location in the heart of Salzburg’s old town has many advantages, but also a few disadvantages. One of them is the fact that, unfortunately, there is no parking available for our guests. There are only limited loading zones in front of the building. <\/p>\n

If you drive into the garage beforehand, you can also buy the parking ticket at reception and use it as an extension ticket when paying. In this case, please keep your car park entry ticket. The bus stop platforms are in front of the train station. From platform (C) you can take bus nos. 1, 3, 5 and 6 to our guest house. Alight at the Makartplatz stop. From there you only have to go up the square (past the Hotel Bristol). At the top of the square is a large building with a church in the middle. Our entrance is to the left of the church.<\/p>\n

From Salzburg W. A. \u200b\u200bMozart Airport, you can take bus line 2. The journey takes around 20 minutes. Stop: Mirabellplatz (Paris-Lodron-Stra\u00dfe). Then, turn left into Dreifaltigkeitsgasse and follow it for about 100 metres. The seminary is on the left with the large wooden doorway to the left of the church.<\/p>\n
